Just converted a table from Word to HTML the other day - the file that Word exported was nearly 200k it had so much garbage code in it. It was less than 5k when I stripped it all out.

I used regular expressions to find code patterns in the text file which is the quickest way to do it, but a little geeky. These pages have some tips for the less technically inclined:
